Katherine Brookes became the holder of the Guinness World Record for the Longest Flute Marathon in August 2017. Katherine played the flute for 27 hours 32 minutes 32 seconds.
But Katherine is not just a flautist. She is a pianist, who has played at the Blanc et Noir Festival (Lagrasse, France 2013 & 2014) as well as across the UK. She has worked as an accompanist for various groups, ensembles and individuals. She has composed children’s musicals which have been performed across the world, and in 2018 formed her own theatre group, Sparkle Theatre, along with Sparkle Theatre Choir. She is also the Musical Director of the Atherstone Chorale, and works with a variety of other theatre groups.
