It’s Been a Hell of a Day was a song I wrote when I was Head of Music at a very large secondary school.  It had been a particularly hard day.  Management were demanding yet more analysis of data and paperwork to be completed.  All I wanted to do was plan some amazing lessons for the students I would be seeing during the week.

I sat down at the piano, and the lyrics and melody for the song just jumped into my head.
